ADA EHUGBO - Guardians of Heritage, Architects of Progress
The 2025 Afikpo Arts Festival is a celebration of the remarkable women of Afikpo—Ada Ehugbo—who have long stood as both Guardians of Heritage and Architects of Progress. This year’s theme pays tribute to their unwavering dedication to preserving cultural traditions while embracing innovation and societal transformation.

Why This Theme?
Afikpo women have played a pivotal role in shaping the Ehugbo identity, acting as cultural custodians, storytellers, artists, and knowledge keepers. They pass down ancestral wisdom, uphold traditions, and strengthen the moral fabric of society. Yet, beyond preservation, they are also powerful agents of progress—leading advancements in education, governance, business, and community development.
Through this festival, we will:
🔹 Celebrate the artistic, cultural, and historical contributions of Afikpo women.
🔹 Showcase their impact on economic growth, gender equity, and community leadership.
🔹 Highlight the balance between tradition and progress, honoring both past and future generations.
Join us as we bring Afikpo’s stories to life through exhibitions, performances, storytelling, discussions, and immersive cultural experience
